The Microsoft Exchange Team mentioned on their blog site that Exchange Server 2007 SP1 will include a new high-availability solution called Standby Continuous Replication (SCR). In “New features in Exchange 2007 SP1” (posted in the Microsoft Supportability e-Newsletter at http://blogs.technet.com/asiasupp/archive/2007/06/26/new-features-in-exchange-2007-sp1.aspx), Microsoft said, “With Exchange 2007, we introduced Cluster Continuous Replication (CCR) for replication of data between two servers within a cluster. With SCR, data can be replicated on a per–storage-group basis to standby servers or clusters. The SCR target, whether a single mailbox server or a cluster, can be placed inside the primary datacenter or in a remote location, ready to be manually activated if the primary server or datacenter fails.” For additional information about SCR, see the Microsoft Exchange Team Blog posts “Standby Continuous Replication in Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1” ( http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2007/06/28/445538.aspx) and “Announcing Service Pack 1 Beta 2 for Exchange Server 2007” ( http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2007/08/14/446656.aspx).
