I have to admit, I really like my mini-apps. Their compact size lets me keep several of my favorite applications open and always available—yet out of the way—on my desktop. Although the effect isn’t quite the same as what you get with the new Vista Sidebar feature, I can mimic the sidebar effect, even on a Windows XP machine.
